Morthenson, Jan - Hymn

This haunting and evocative hymn is the perfect length and structure, with gentle, sorrowful lines interacting in a luscious blend of meditation. Minor key hymns always strike an unusual note and reflect the breadth of expression in the Psalter. The Swedish composer has written a great deal of work, much of it with spiritual themes. This piece was recorded by the Stockholm Saxophone Quartet on their recording 'Encores'.
