Everdon, Paul - Ta Hiera

Everdon, Paul - Ta Hiera

Ta Hiera is a very interesting work specially written for Syzygy. The piece is for 3 soprano saxophones and weaves through long rituals of sonic territory. There are moments of focus, but the piece is a kaleidoscope of microtonality, multiphonics and other techniques that create timbral distortions. The work features intense passages of hyper-dissonance with fantastic sprawling overtones interacting in the ear. Expertly written, though extremely taxing, Ta Hiera is an enthralling, devastating piece, not for the faint hearted.
